Creating a new Adobe ID or OverDrive account and reauthorizing the app has resolved the issue for other users having the same trouble, so we recommend trying one (but not both) of the steps below.

Authorizing OverDrive with a new Adobe ID

  1. Open the OverDrive app.
  2. Deauthorize the app on your device.
    • Open the Home menu by tapping the icon in the top-left corner of the app.
    • Tap Settings, then Deauthorize.
  3. Tap Authorize. If prompted, select No when asked to use your previous authorization.
  4. Select Use my Adobe ID. On the "Adobe Authorization" screen, enter an ID that's different than the one you were using before, and then select Authorize. If needed, you can create a new ID on Adobe's website, then enter it into the app and select Authorize.
  5. After you've authorized the app, try downloading the title or titles again.

Authorizing with a new OverDrive account

If you don't want to create a new Adobe ID to authorize the OverDrive app, you can instead create a new OverDrive account. Use the following steps, and please be sure to follow them in the exact order listed.

  1. Open the OverDrive app.
  2. Deauthorize the app on your device.
    • Open the Home menu by tapping the icon in the top-left corner of the app.
    • Tap Settings, then Deauthorize.
  3. Return to the Home menu. Tap Account, then Sign out (if you're using an OverDrive account already).
  4. Select Sign up, then follow the on-screen prompts to create an OverDrive account.
  5. Open the Home menu and select Settings. Then tap Authorize.
  6. After you've authorized the app, try downloading the title or titles again.
