The $40 renewal fee to renew an annual card is added to a cardholder's account two weeks before the card's expiration date. When this fee is added to an account, it exceeds the $25 limit in fines/fees and prevents use of the card until the fee is paid.

To renew your annual card:

  1. Visit metrolibrary.org and click My Account at the top.
  2. In the window that pops up, enter all 8 digits of your library card number (if your card number has less than 8 digits, add enough zeros to the front of your number until it is 8 digits long) or if your card number starts with ecard, enter that word along with the 7 trailing digits and your full last name (or sign in with your EZ Username and Password), and click Log In.
  3. On the Account Summary tab, click View Fines, then click Pay Fines.
  4. In the window that opens, sign in with your library card number and your last name.
  5. Check the boxes to select whether to pay all or some of your fines and then click Pay Selected Fines.

After paying your renewal fee, you must contact us so we can set your card to expire in 1 year.
