I was first in line on the holds list for a title that I suggested for purchase but now I've been moved down the holds list OR my hold has been canceled. Why?

When you suggest that we purchase a title, the title must first be available for us to purchase. For example, if you request we buy the DVD of a movie that's yet to be released or is still in theaters, it isn't yet available for us to purchase on DVD and it's our procedure to delete the request for purchase. For books, you cannot suggest we purchase the title more than 6 months ahead of its publication date.

Once a title is available for us to purchase, the date and time of the request is recorded and you are automatically placed at the top of the holds list. If we decide to purchase the title, once its status is changed to On Order, we arrange the holds for this title in order of when we received the request.
