When I try to transfer an eBook to my NOOK, I see the "This book has been returned. Loan not on record" error. What does this mean?

This appears to be a problem with older NOOKs and version 4 of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). Please try these steps:

  1. Uninstall ADE version 4 and install ADE version 3
  2. Deauthorize ADE, delete (but not return) the eBook from your ADE Library
  3. Authorize ADE and either download the eBook again or open it from the file you previously downloaded
  4. Copy the eBook to your NOOK
